چکیده

We present a direct and fairly simple proof of the following incidence bound: Let P be a set of m points and L a set of n lines in R, for d ≥ 3, which lie in a common algebraic two-dimensional surface of degree D that does not contain any 2-flat, so that no 2-flat contains more than s ≤ D lines of L. Then the number of incidences between P and L is

Incidences Between Points and Lines on Two- and Three-Dimensional Varieties

Let P be a set of m points and L a set of n lines in R, such that the points of P lieon an algebraic three-dimensional surface of degree D that does not contain hyperplaneor quadric components, and no 2-flat contains more than s lines of L. We show thatthe number of incidences between P and L is

On lines, joints, and incidences in three dimensions

We extend (and somewhat simplify) the algebraic proof technique of Guth and Katz [7], to obtain several sharp bounds on the number of incidences between lines and points in three dimensions. Specifically, we show: (i) The maximum possible number of incidences between n lines in R and m of their joints (points incident to at least three non-coplanar lines) is Θ(mn) for m ≥ n, and Θ(mn+m+n) for m...

Effective Design of a 3×4 Two Dimensional Distributed Amplifier Based on Gate Line Considerations

In this paper two dimensional wave propagation is used for power combining in drain nodes of a distributed amplifier (DA). The proposed two dimensional DA uses an electrical funnel to add the currents of drain nodes. The proposed structure is modified due to gate lines considerations. Total gain improvement is achieved by engineering the characteristic impedance of gate lines and also make appr...

Adaptation of Structured Grid for Supersonic and Transonic Flows

Two distinct redistribution grids - adaptation techniques, spring analogy and elliptic grid generator are applied to two-dimensional steady, inviscid, shocked flows, and the ability of each technique is examined and compared. Euler equations are solved base on Roe's Reimann solver approach to simulate supersonic flow around a sphere, transonic flow about an airfoil and supersonic flow in a symm...

Polynomial Partitioning on Varieties of Codimension Two and Point-Hypersurface Incidences in Four Dimensions

We present a polynomial partitioning theorem for finite sets of points in the real locus of a complex algebraic variety of codimension at most two. This result generalizes the polynomial partitioning theorem on the Euclidean space of Guth and Katz, and its extension to hypersurfaces by Zahl and by Kaplan, Matoušek, Sharir and Safernová. We also present a bound for the number of incidences betwe...
